during testing kubuntu jaunty alpha 6, this deeply irritating sound started to happen after some upgrade. i think it comes from gnome, because since that one upgradee, all possible gnome-apps make all possible funny sounds. «bum» and «pof» are not irritating but »BEEP« on tab throws me out of my socks. might cause heart attacks...
