I had to remove the previous GlobalMenu to have the install successfully complete when I did it manually. Does the package explicitely ask to remove the legacy globalmenu ?
Btw, do not hesitate to make patch to improve the awful situation of our compatibility ith Debian packaging. Can you post the language descriptions here so that I can have a look and try to give it a go. Thanks for all your efforts.
