Public bug reported:

when the option "try ubuntu without any change to your computer" is selected 
you are then given the option to install ubuntu by clicking an icon in the 
desktop. there should be a small dialog or a warning explaining to the user 
that the installation is real and that  the computer is going to be modified. I 
realized this because I gave instructions to my father who had no previous 
experience with linux and he thought that he was seeing was a simulation of an 
installation and as a result he damaged his windows partition. I think that is 
very likely that many persons that are new to ubuntu could have the same 
problem :)
