I just downloaded Kubuntu 8.10 and after a frustrating day trying to find and use an installer for the software for which I installed a Linux, came across this thread. Thank you, I have installed Kpackage (it is not included with the 8.10 distribution), and will now see if it works. This is supposed to be one of the most popular and polished Linuxes, no wonder people stick to the mainstream OSes.
