I confirm this bug too. I am running Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 on a thinkpad. Intel graphics card and firefox 3.0.8 with mouse gestures redox 2.0.3 extension.
The bug occurs when LEFT clicking on a menu and triggers the first menu item.
