Public bug reported: This Feature Freeze exception regards separately downloaded and specifically negotiated public domain data-files to go with the 'OpenBVE' rail simulator, which is already in Universe. The proposed packages have been uploaded to:
http://revu.ubuntuwire.com/p/bve-route-cross-city-south http://revu.ubuntuwire.com/p/bve-train-br-class-323 The original needs-packaging is bug #331188, which groups the four .debs: openbve (Simulator engine/game engine) openbve-data (Support files; icons, languages, ...) bve-route-cross-city-south (Negotiated separately as a PD release) bve-train-br-class-323 (Negotiated separately again, also under PD) The game engine and its support files were uploaded in February and accepted into Universe, immediately before Feature Freeze. The route/train packages did not get uploaded at the same time because of the circumstances: * Last minute negotiation over public domain releases (and non-free cleansing by upstreams) * Large .orig upload size (~30 MB) combined, not possible over unreliable GPRS access at the time In the meantime, the game engine has gone 1.0, with a series of small bugfix releases. This 1.0 release fixed bugs and reduced the patch delta between the Ubuntu .deb and upstream and thus 1.0.2.0 is now in the archive. The train/route packages both contain *no executable code*. There is *no direct dependency* between the packages, meaning that there should be a low risk of package/build issues this close to release. The game engine, route and train package are related based a: Provides/Recommends: bve-engine, bve-train, bve-route relationship combination to allow single-click GUI installation of all of the jigsaw pieces (if available). Currently there are no other BVE {train, route} files in the archive. The packages have undergone several hours ...testing. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- FFe bve-route-cross-city-south/bve-train-br-class-323 for jaunty/universe https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/356615 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
