Hardy is supposed to get "Long Term Support", so if there is a fix in
Intrepid, please back-port it.  It does not seem reasonable to just not
support SATA out of the box.

Note: Intrepid is unsuitable for many people because of several major 
regressions (session mgmt, bluetooth,...).
Therefore keeping Hardy useful on current hardware seems essential.

P.S. Does the previous post mean that nobody is looking at this bug any
longer?
