Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: passwd

I was having a problem with sudo after a strange installation, and ran
passwd to change my user's password. However, it was already set, so at
the "Enter New UNIX Password" prompt, I tried pressing Control-C to
exit. That didn't do anything, so I tried Control-D, which worked, but
passwd segfaulted. Although this isn't really harmful, it's probably not
the intended behavior...?

** Affects: shadow (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
