I've suspected that 2.6.27-13 causes regression in the framebuffer console. See my comment of 2009-03-29 above and https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/351207. However, that problem has existed long before. So it's no regression and it is not any reason not to go forward with 2.6.27-13 (or -14).
