Mmm ok, so ifconfig eth1 down will deactivate the radio... and how can I see that it is really deactivated? I've noticed also that when I uncheck "enable wireless" in network-manager this will deactivate eth1. if this is really true they've made a good job! the following step will be a new hotkey handler
