** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: pidgin

Ubuntu Jaunty, latest updates as of the report.

- Pidgin's new icon using the indicator-applet (white letter) seems to
disappear at times randomly. You can be using the machine normally, then look
up to find that it's disappeared. Pidgin is still running in the background, as
ps ax will show and it will not allow you to run another instance (just gives
the wait cursor and then goes back to normal, does not raise buddy list or
replace icon) This requires a kill command to be used on the process, then
restarting pidgin to gain access to it again. I don't know for sure if this is
an indicator-applet issue or not, as I haven't seen any crashes pop up about
either.

I haven't seen a particular behavior yet that causes it, but I will monitor
the issue.
+
+ The issue is that Pidgin's default is currently to not show it's own
+ icon, which causes issues if the indicator-applet's icon disappears.
+ Enabling Pidgin's internal icon is a work around for now, as you can use
+ it to access the buddy list when the other icon disappears.
