sorry got the link wrong in the previous post. The correct link is http://search.luky.org/linux-kernel.2003/msg70535.html. It proved to me that the kernel can crash aspects of bios. I have a usb mouse as well but I wouldn't lose that when the usb crashed in bios. Maybe it uses usb 1.1 transfers.
