As I mentioned earlier (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/knetworkmanager/+bug/280762/comments/59), I could get a static IP connection to work under Kubuntu Intrepid. Now I installed "ubuntu-desktop" to have also the Gnome alternative. Since then, my static IP disappeared when in KDE! Only when I click on my connection in KNetworkManager to reconnect I get the static IP back. I think maybe the problem is that the nm-applet connects with the Gnome settings before the start of KDE. I did not try to uninstall anything yet, fearing I'd loose all connectivity...
