To re-add the application menu in your taskbar, please right click the
panel and click "add new item" then select "Xfce menu" (near the bottom
of the list). If you would like to have the same default icon as before,
right click the menu, then properties and paste the following into the
button icon location text input box:
/usr/share/pixmaps/xubuntu-logo.png
Please make sure to shutdown correctly to save your desktop setup.
