Sorry, Andreas, you do misrepresent what was said in the CUPS forum
about your PostScript file, probably because you did not fully
understand it:
"They reject support for DSC non-conforming files [...]"
That's not true. They only reject support for files that *claim* DSC
conformity (by sending "%!PS-Adobe-2.0" in the first line), while the
file itself is clearly non-conforming. And yes, they
"[....] suggest xfig to be fixed."
Fixed by...
a) ...either remove the DSC-claiming signature
b) ...or make it create DSC-conforming PostScript
I hope it is clear now.
As has been demonstrated to you, the file does print perfectly with...
a) ...either in "raw" mode (which tells CUPS to not invoke any filter on it),
should you happen to print to a PostScript printer,
b) ...or changing the "%!PS-Adobe-2.0" into simple "%!PS" (which makes
CUPS treat it as a non-conforming file)
So you are not completely "left out in the cold" without any way to
print your xfig files at the moment...
