For me it seems that the USB CUPS backend has problems to communicate with the printer.
The error_log does not show any errors related to the job. The filter chain (driver, rendering, ...) seems to work perfectly. There is no message of the foomatic-rip filter and the usb backend ending, also no message for the end of the job. It seems that the USB backend waited for a response of the printer and perhaps timed out after a certain time, but the error_log was extracted earlier. Please try another test of capturing the error_log of the job, but wait longer this time, until the job gets into "Stopped" or disappears from the queue. Also execute "lsusb -vvv" and "ls -l /dev/bus/usb/*/*" as soon as the job is stuck and another time when it has gone into "Stopped" state or disappeared from the queue. You can try a workaround as follows: Run sudo usb_printerid /dev/usb/lp0 and see whether the output contains your printer's model name. If so, do cupsctl FileDevice=yes lpadmin -p <name of your print queue> -E -v file:/dev/usb/lp0 If not, try the same with /dev/usb/lp1, /dev/usb/lp2, ... Now try to print. Does it work? Note that this is only a workaround and only works reliably if you have only one USB printer connected to your machine. ** Changed in: cups (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- [Jaunty beta] Epson RX620 doesn't print https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/350107 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
