Following those directions resulted in no text output, but the same
behavior. After initiating the command, the VT switched to a blank
screen with a blinking cursor. The pm-suspend.log file doesn't show any
errors that I can see.

s2ram does the same thing
s2disk successfully forms a resume image, and then hangs with a S| on the final
line
-after I hard reset, the laptop successfully resumes from the image that was
created.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can try. I also went through
the instructions on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend under
"resume-trace" debugging procedure for finding buggy drivers. It shows the
magic number as expected:
[ 2.338911] Magic number: 1:565:684
[ 2.338937] mem full: hash matches

and it cuts off there, so it doesn't give anything useful (as far as I
know).

Thank you!
Jason
