+ Ubuntu 9.04 beta desktop fails to boot from usb-stick

** Description changed:

There were no problems to boot ubuntu 9.04 alpha 6 64-bit desktop from
- usb stick for me, but the beta fails.
+ usb stick for me, but the beta fails (both 32-bit and 64-bit).

At first everything seems to be normal, till the boot splash appears.
Than there are multiple HDD actions (on my internal HDD, not on the USB-
  stick).

Using alt + F1 I get the following error message:

  modprobe: FATAL: Could not load
/lib/modules/2.6.28-11-generic/modules.dep: No such file or directory

After waiting some time (about one or two minutes) without any changes I
come to a console. The file mentioned in the error message is available
  from that console.

Thanks for trying to solve that issue.

What other information I can provide you with?
