Binary package hint: asterisk-chan-capi chan-capi provided in hardy gave me the following error message when trying to call out via ISDN: channel.c: No path to translate from CAPI/ISDN1#02/01234567890123-0(0) to SIP/martin-08206fe0(4) So chan-capi did not provide any audio codec ("(0)") to translate to codec 4 for SIP. I rebuilt the package with version 1.1.1, and this works fine now.
