Well I seem to have fixed it, I was using

#!/bin/sh
# suspend
echo -n "mem" > /sys/power/state

in /etc/acpi/suspend.sh

but I realized that while this did work fine in breezy, I maby should go
by the book since now it wasn't working. So from ThinkWiki I found their
script

http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/How_to_configure_acpid

and it works, though it is bit slow.

Problem solved.
