The Package manager "gear" icon is always there when I am running this USB disk, but there is no update available when i check, and EVERY method I can think of from Synaptic, to "apt-get autoclean" and even enabling backports and cleaning out residual packages, that one xxx.x.xx.x.x.7 kernel item is still there.
I remember an error message in the update that said something like "I..... (word beginning with "i") is not updatable because this is a Live CD" or something like that; it was DIRECTLYrelated to this kernel (xxx.xx.xx.x-7) issue. I couldn't Cut and paste the words; if I encounter it again I will write it down. I plan to try this "Live USB" in a different computer later today. -- package linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic 2.6.27-7.16 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 17 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/347735 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
