I'm experiencing the same problems that Florent (VT switches and unknow parameters in dmesg). I've just upgrade to Jaunty (kernel 2.6.28-11-generic) with an Intel i945GM (driver 2.6.3). In fact, I have first also bad performances with compiz as in Bug #303011 Maybe it is related ?
