I see you reported this bug a while ago but it was only most recently
assigned to the correct "linux (Ubuntu)" kernel package.  It is
important to make file bug reports to a specific package to help ensure
that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more

That being said, can you comment if this is still an issue with the
latest pre-release of Jaunty 9.04, currently Alpha 6 -
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/jaunty/ .  If the issue remains, can
you attach your dmidecode output:

sudo dmidecode > dmidecode.log
