Don, Did you actually upgrade to the new packages? All you needed to do was the add the deb line to your sources.list and then update the packages list on your system in your package manager and then run upgrade in the package manager. You can tell if you upgraded because OOo will now be version 3.0.1 on your system as shown via Help->About OpenOffice.org
