I am seeing a problem (which may be the same). For me, X on Jaunty (32-bit) does not exit any time I switch to TTY, but it does quit the 2nd graphical session I create when I switch back and forth between users.
If I log in as myself, that session is always fine. If I then log in as another user (with a separate desktop), that log in works fine too. However, when I switch back to my original user, the 2nd X session closes. This happens whether I use the ubuntu user selector, or I jump back to the first session using CTRL-ALT-F7.
