I did not drop into busybox. On boot, I see what appears to be
completely random lines of color. There is no text whatsoever one I get
past GRUB. The system is completely unresponsive. Ctrl-Alt-Del, Ctr-
Alt,Backspace,and Ctrl-Alt-[F1-12] don't seem to do anything at all. The
lines of color do flicker on and off. This is hard to explain in words
really, so I took a picture of my monitor with a digital camera at the
point of it crashing. I don't know what you mean by exact package name.
The GRUB bootloader calls it 2.6.28-10-generic. I am not really
experienced at debugging kernel problems so sorry for not being able to
help much, but I will try what I can to help fix the problem.
