I found this bug is still present on my jaunty 64bit, with nvidia 8200 card. On book usplash works perfectly @ 1680x1050 (my lcd panel native resolution), but on shutdown usplash is completely garbaged. Openaddict workaround works. Nvidia driver is 185 (same problem with 177 and 180), but I suppose it may be framebuffer-related.
