Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: debian-installer

Tested by performing a new installation of Edgy: Desktop, Alternative,
command-line system and Server. Actually, even the Live CD shows broken
packages in 'aptitude'.

If you run 'aptitude' immediately after booting into a newly installed
system, it will report numerous broken packages. The number varies -
sometimes it's only 4, sometimes 10, 14 or 33. This is probably due to
'aptitude' smart package handling when it tries to resolve all
dependencies and install all suggested and recommended packages.

Sorting through all this and examining each individual package in order
to resolve all broken packages, although a one time deal, could be a bit
painful for someone who prefers using 'aptitude' instead of one of the
GUI package managers. It would be great if the default package selection
was checked against 'aptitude' for each future Ubuntu releases.

** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
