also currently, the only thing that uses the indicator applet is the evolution mail notifier, correct? all i see are disadvantages: 1. people who (for some reason) run evolution in KDE or other desktops won't get new mail warnings. 2. it adds to the complexity of the panel. 3. it takes up precious real estate for those of us who try to squeeze everything into one panel.
