Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

I installed Ubuntu from your web site after downloading it to a cd.
After installing it I tried to reboot into xp home. After xp booted up
I noticed that I was unable to connect to the internet using my Comcast
cable connection. I have a Asus P4PE motherboard with Asustek/broadcom
440/x10/100 intergrated controller also Realtek RTC 8137 Family PCI fast
etherrrnet NIC intergrated.

I uninstalled ubuntu and rebooted now into xp but still was unable to
connect to the always on internet connection. My phone is voice over
internet and that always works, I have three other computers in the
house and all are connected to the internet and working fine.

Next I did a new format of my C drive and did a reintall of xp but this
did not change my lack of being able to connect to the internet.

My system is running xp service pack 3 with all drivers up to date.
This was the condition of the computer when I first installed ubuntu
8.1. I've tried Asus forum, xp forum, Ubuntu forum and no one has been
able to figure out the problem, hopefully you guys can.
