It seems that the bug 278318 refers to the same upstream bug report, but
that bug has been marked as fixed. Could you check this out and see how
it compares with your case?

Last I heard 2.7.0 (or even 2.6.2) will probably not be included in
Jaunty. The main reason is that the new driver version requires upgrade
to a lot of other xorg components (libdrm, mesa, etc...) and it is
probably not enough time for testing all that before the release of
Jaunty.

If there were a patch that could be applied to fix this, it could be
included in Jaunty. But as far as I understood from the upstream bug, it
was more involved, so this may not be possible.
