Public bug reported:

Hardware: Dell Precision M60
Error:
$ sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
 * Reconfiguring network interfaces...

Failed to bring up eth0.
                                                                         [ OK ]

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ethernet device:

$ dmesg | grep -i ether
[   11.339695] eth0: Tigon3 [partno(BCM95705A50) rev 3001 PHY(5705)]
(PCI:33MHz:32-bit) 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet xx:xx:xx:xx

kernel module:
$ lsmod | grep -i tg3
tg3                   116228  0

For some reason, this problem popped up out of the blue where eth0
suddenly stops working. Everything is fine, all of the sudden websites
stop resolving. Try to restart networking, eth0 not found. rmmod tg3,
modprobe tg3, works again for a bit. Then, again, stops working. Fresh
install of Hardy 8.04.2

Think its my hardware?
