0.2 package is slighty modified in respect of the debian package.. Mainly is usplash support the thing that is missing.
Perhaps upstream they have released version 0.5, so it's worthless to implement usplash support on a 0.3 (and not official) version. Debian hasn't packaged it yet, perhaps because they are on freeze for the release of edgy. Have you planned to package it? If so I'm happy to help you, testing it and porting the usplash support, if you want..
