This also affects me. I have an HP Elitebook 8530w with both a touchpad and a joystick (pointstick). I found that if I move the joystick Synergy will start working as expected. If I use the touchpad, Synergy stops working and reverts to being stuck in the upper left corner. If I kill/restart synergyc, it goes back to whatever state it was in before being killed. If I kill synergyc, touch the touchpad and restart synergyc, it will be stuck. If I kill synergyc, move the joystick and restart synergyc, it works normally.
