could you try if the gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg 0.10.6.2 update in jaunty
fixes your issue?

Bug description:
Binary package hint: nautilus

After right clicking on a mkv file and slecting "proprieties" menu,
nautilus crashes.

This happened twice with two different mkv files in the same folder.

Using ubuntu Jaunty.
