Hi John, I am new to Linux and can't get my Logitech Quickcam to work. Do you have any suggestions?
I get this error message when I open Ekiga to test my camera: "Error while opening video device /dev/video0 There was an error while opening the device. Please check your permissions and make sure that the appropriate driver is loaded." I have used Synaptic Package Manager to install qc-usb-source, but that hasn't enabled my Logitech Quickcam. Thanks a bunch for your help and patience, -Tom > Date: Tue, 10 Mar 2009 09:48:17 +0000 > From: gnomefr...@gmail.com > To: tom_vacavi...@hotmail.com > Subject: [Bug 340323] Re: Logitech Quickcam won't work in Unbuntu > > What does this have to do with firefox? > What are steps to reproduce and what errors or warnings. > A screenshot of the problem will greatly help us. > What software for cam are you using? > > ** Changed in: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) > Status: New => Incomplete > > -- > Logitech Quickcam won't work in Unbuntu > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/340323 > You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber > of the bug. > > Status in “firefox-3.0” source package in Ubuntu: Incomplete > > Bug description: > Binary package hint: firefox-3.0 > > Logitech Quickcam won't work in Unbuntu > > ProblemType: Bug > Architecture: amd64 > DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.10 > Package: firefox-3.0 3.0.7+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.10.1 > ProcEnviron: > PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games > LANG=en_US.UTF-8 > SHELL=/bin/bash > SourcePackage: firefox-3.0 > Uname: Linux 2.6.27-11-generic x86_64 -- Logitech Quickcam won't work in Unbuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/340323 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
