Heh, yes. Though this is a motorola pci card that has it actually, so it's removable... but it's been on this same computer.
Another tip for this mystery is that before I installed the drivers manually, I checked "dmseg" (or something like that), and it did detect the card, but said there was some problem, and pointed to "http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43#devicefirmware" - which is where I got the correct instructions on installing the driver.
