I tried forcing evince to output pdf. It sort of works, but the pdftopdf filter consumes very large amounts of memory on large-ish documents. For a 5 meg pdf file, the resident size of pdftopdf grew to 1.6 gigabytes and the machine was swapping like crazy before I killed the process.
I'm attaching the patch to evince that I used. ** Attachment added: "Patch to make evince use PDF for print jobs" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/23618524/force-pdf.patch -- GTK apps should send PDF to CUPS when printing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/258421 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
