Thanks for reopening Leann. My first results are a little mixed. I connected the laptop to my router via an ethernet cable, booted up the Jaunty Alpha 5 livecd, created a user account and installed ssh server. I confirmed that I could ssh into the machine, then I put it into Suspend. After going down, I pressed the power button to bring it back and was met with the familiar black screen. I went to ssh in but was unable to connect. I tried pinging and got a Destination Host Unreachable.
a...@office1:~$ ssh a...@192.168.1.38 ssh: connect to host 192.168.1.38 port 22: No route to host a...@office1:~$ ping 192.168.1.38 PING 192.168.1.38 (192.168.1.38) 56(84) bytes of data. >From 192.168.1.45 icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable So I'm thinking networking is not getting restarted after the suspend. I'm going to try this same procedure in 8.10, which is what is currently installed on the laptop. -- Won't return from suspend on emachines M6810 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/103719 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
