Public bug reported:

This is my first time reporting a bug....

I tried to upgrade from Intrepid. I have a Nvidia graphics card. During
the upgrade it said something about running in low graphics mode. I must
have click the wrong button (keep going in low graphics mode) because
the whole thing crashed. I tried running apt-get upgrade and aptitude
from the command line (graphics wouldn't load. Things just got worse and
worse.

Some errors "I got were /dev/null permission denied" repeated about
fifty times immediately after login of a non root account. Someting like
"processing of packages failed/canceled because of to many errors."

I eventually had to wipe everything (I love my external HD). I ran the
install reformated with EXT4 and everything (including the NVidia driver
seems to work just fine).

I would have liked a better explaination of what Low Graphics mode was.
And I think a lot of the problem was that it upgraded X before it
upgraded the Graphics drivers. Maybe this should be switched....

Hope I was helpfull!

Currently Using Jaunty Alpha 5
