This bug is in linux-backport-modules for intrepid, so moving to linux-
backport-modules-2.6.27.
When you say that you this update "kills connections" which connections
are these, wifi perhaps? What symptoms do you see, do the link lights
no longer come on, wifi lights no longer flash etc.
Could you attach dmesg output, ifconfig -a output, and lspci -nnvv
output to this bug.
