I have been getting the same error for some time - I continue to boot from the
last working version of the amd64 kernel (2.6.24-21). Whenever I do try and
boot from the latest kernel version (currently a 2.6.27-11) I get the
following error at boot:
  PANIC: early exception 0e rip 10:ffffffff8022d611 error 0 cr2
ffffffffffffff5fc0f0

I had hoped that a subsequent kernel update would resolve it but it
never has, so I continue to boot from the .24 kernel. My BIOS is details
are as follows:

# dmidecode 2.9
SMBIOS 2.3 present.
35 structures occupying 1479 bytes.
Table at 0x000F0000.

Handle 0x0000, DMI type 0, 20 bytes
BIOS Information
        Vendor: Phoenix Technologies, LTD
        Version: 641W1P24
        Release Date: 08/30/2006
        Address: 0xE0000
        Runtime Size: 128 kB
        ROM Size: 512 kB

Is there any workaround or resolution to this issue?
Many thanks
Glen
