Public bug reported: I am running kubuntu 8.10 updated to kde 4.2 through intrepid-backports repository packages. I have installed only the screensavers that shipped with the distribution by default.
apt-cache policy kscreensaver: kscreensaver: Installed: 4:4.2.0-0ubuntu1~intrepid1 Candidate: 4:4.2.0-0ubuntu1~intrepid1 Version table: *** 4:4.2.0-0ubuntu1~intrepid1 0 500 http://ftp.uninett.no intrepid-backports/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 4:4.1.4-0ubuntu1~intrepid1 0 500 http://ftp.uninett.no intrepid-updates/main Packages 4:4.1.2-0ubuntu2 0 500 http://ftp.uninett.no intrepid/main Packages Expected behavior After a set idle time screensaver should turn on, and after an optional wait should lock access to the computer. Access to computer can be re-opened by touching mouse or keyboard to bring up a password dialog box. If correct password is entered, access is given to the ordinary desktop running as before the screensaver turned on. Actual behavior When using OpenGL enabled screensavers like, for example, 'flux", the screensaver itself displays properly, but after the computer is locked such that a password is required to open it again, it is impossible to continue to use the computer. The dialog box for entering the password and unlocking does not appear. The opengl 'flux' display is terminated and the log/in screen shows (not the desktop background but the kde splash login) - without any login related stuff like a place to enter your password. It just shows the background of the kde splash login, not the login dialog. There appears to be no way out of this lock (not even restart X CtrlAltBackspace) except the dreaded power button. ** Affects: kdeartwork (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- opengl screensavers freeze/lockup on re-entry https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/337157 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdeartwork in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
