Public bug reported: At the end of what became a successful install, computer went to tty1 and spammed "must be root to perform this action" It eventually ejected the cd and said to press enter after disc was removed. removed disc, and pressed enter. spammed same message "must be root" then locked up without turning off.
At startup I used the "install Ubuntu" option, but changed kernel options at the end. I replaced "quiet splash --" with "vga=ask" and then picked "0x0347 1600x1200x16". Maybe it would not have hung with the shutdown splash, but it should not have hard locked. 1) lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu jaunty (development branch) Release: 9.04 (March 2, 2009 daily) 2) ?? 3) Expected computer to restart after finishing install 4) Hard locked after responding to "remove CD" message at end ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Computer did not restart after install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/337045 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
