I tried compiling ImageMagick from source and I had the exact same error as samotham. I solved it by installing libperl-dev as well as libperl5.10 AND running ldconfig after installation. Then, compiling gollage doesn't throw up the missing dependencies and everything works smoothly. I'm generating collages right now.
