The online defrag patch isn't ready for prime-time yet. It's getting much better, but it's still not at the point where I'm comfortable merging it into the mainline kernel yet, and the userspace API's are still not yet set into stone. So the userspace component is not going into e2fsprogs upstream until I'm satisfied the kernel piece is ready for mainline. The current status is that I gave the ext4 defrag developers some comments, and I haven't heard back from them in a few weeks. Probably time for me to ping them again....
