Success! Upon installing linux-image-2.6.27-13-server and its associated headers, my multimedia keys are working again. As an added bonus, the "My Favorites" keys that didn't work in Linux previously are working now. Thanks again to everyone for all your work on this issue. Now all we need is to get this kernel pushed out to updates :)
