> 2. I renamed /etc/X11/xorg.conf and after logging out there was no new xorg.conf created, still all works well.
This seems to have changed from the the xorg-server in intrepid, but that is not a problem. The previous version would create a minimalistic xorg.conf if none existed. After removing the xorg.conf, try to run `sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg`. This should create a new minimalistic xorg.conf (I tested this). On my computer (965GM graphics chipset) this gives no Driver line in the "Device" section. If you get a Driver line there, it is a configuration issue with the xserver-xorg package. If not, it is the ubiquity installer or some other xorg-related package. -- [i945] intel video card automatically detected on live cd, but not on the installed system https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/335512 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
