For the error : yeah, python 2.6 has appeared between my sponsor request and today. The site-packages/dist-packages changes between 2.5 and 2.6 make dh_install fails because of files not found. The solution was to change .install files to take both directories into account (as the package is built upon both python 2.5 & 2.6).
