I made a script which works for me in every case. Put it in
/etc/pm/sleep.d

On suspend/hibernate it stores current calibration values and restore
them on resume/thaw. It connects to X server with display :0.0 with user
that is owner of that process. There is a need to sleep for 2 seconds
before restoring values, without that sleep something overwrites
restored values.
